From the NY Times article:

A spokeswoman for Chevrolet, Melisa Tezanos, said the company did not plan to shut down the anti-S.U.V. ads.

"We anticipated that there would be critical submissions," Ms. Tezanos said. "You do turn over your brand to the public, and we knew that we were going to get some bad with the good. But it's part of playing in this space." (emphasis mine)

Recently, I failed to give so much thought to placing comments on blog page articles and have left feedback even less. Viewing your interesting content, will probably encourage me to do so on a regular basis.

I think that Toyota is doing the right thing by carrying out a recall. It is for their customers' safety, the those people who will be driving their automobiles for decades to come.
